Speech Therapy

Speech therapy, also known as speech-language pathology, is a field of healthcare that focuses on assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders. It involves working with individuals of all ages, from infants to adults, who experience difficulties with speech, language, voice, fluency, and/or swallowing.

At Pehchaan we have a team of trained Speech therapists, also called speech-language pathologists (SLPs), who help individuals improve their communication skills and overcome challenges related to speech and language.

At Pehchaan the main goal of speech therapy is to address and improve specific communication difficulties. Here are some common areas that speech therapists a Pehchaan clinic address

  • Articulation: Speech therapists help individuals who have trouble pronouncing certain sounds or articulating words clearly.
  • Language: They assist individuals who have difficulties understanding and using language, including vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure.
  • Voice: Speech therapists can help individuals with voice disorders, such as vocal nodules or vocal cord paralysis, by working on vocal hygiene, breath control, and voice production techniques.
  • Fluency: Individuals who stutter or have other fluency disorders can benefit from speech therapy techniques to improve their fluency and reduce disfluencies.
  • Swallowing and feeding: Speech therapists help individuals who have swallowing difficulties (dysphagia) or feeding issues, provide strategies and exercises to improve swallowing function and oral motor skills.

At Pehchaan  SLPs use various techniques and tools, including exercises, games, and technology-based interventions. They also work closely with family members, caregivers, and educators to provide guidance and support in implementing strategies outside of therapy sessions.
